Car Gear Stick

Transmission Manual or Automatic

The image above is what you see in your vehicle.

Under the bonnet it gets a bit more complicated, but that is where we come in.

Your vehicle is constantly changing gears depending on the speed you are travelling

This causes wear and tiny particles are metal are shave off and contaminate the oil.

In a service we drain out the old oil and inspect it to see if there could be problems.

The pan is cleaned and the transmission filter replaced

A new gasket is used when reassembling the transmission and clean oil added, And it is tested for oil leaks.

A transmission flush is sometimes necessary if there is excessive wear to remove any contaminants.

Problems

If  you notice any noise or vibrations when changing gear then you could have a problem.

If a warning light appears on your dashboard it could mean a number of things one of which could be the transmission.

To avoid this the transmission should be checked regularly.
